I had so many wonderful couples last summer but this couple is one of the most fun and genuine. I shot their engagement session on a private lake in Morrison, CO. (You can see their engagement session here.) Their engagement session made me so excited to shoot their wedding. There love is so genuine and they don’t hide it. I knew their wedding would be full of emotion and all around gorgeousness. And it didn’t disappoint. They got married in Colorado Springs at the Lodge at Cathedral Pines. Elyse and Lyle (along with their awesome wedding coordinator, Stephany) did a wonderful job at scheduling their day and making sure there was room for creativity and a little adventure. The couple did a very unique first look that incorporated a more traditional aspect. They had their parents stand on their sides of the isle, while her father walked Elyse down to meet Lyle at the end of isle, much like a mock ceremony. Lyle wanted the indescribable emotion of seeing his bride walk towards him for the first time but they also wanted to have the freedom to take as many pictures as they wanted. This was such a creative way to meet in the middle. Not only was the ceremony beautiful, but the reception was a dance party. Elyse and Lyle met out square dancing while they were attending college in Wyoming so their reception featured lots of two steppin’ and amazing moves. I had so much fun photographing this couple as they joined their lives together. I wish them all the best in the world!
