In honor of my new website launch, I thought I would do a new blog post of my favorite maternity shoot to date. It has taken me a few to get my philosophy on maternity shoots just right. I have done the cheesy belly shots and the weird angles of an engorged stomach and have come to some sound doctrines on how I want to shoot maternity sessions. To me, it is not necessarily about the belly (however we do get a few awesome shots of the soon-to-be-mom in her glowing state), its more about the season that couple is in. I like to focus on the beauty of the couple as they venture into this uncharted territory of new life. Then their images become timeless and hopefully will not end up on Bad Family Photos.
Katie and Bryant are hilarious and wonderful. I met Katie (virtually) on twitter. She went to elementary school with my husband and this digital age brought us together. We became good friends via twitter and, when she became pregnant, we decided we should probably met in person. Katie is gorgeous and has a great sense of humor. Her twitter is witty and entertaining. If you want a good follow, check out her twitter here. Brian has a dry sense of humor and is very goofy. He kept us very entertained during the shoot and definitely kept me on my toes.
Needless to say, Katie and Bryant said hello to the beautiful Kinsey about three months ago. She is gorgeous!
