WHAT TO EXPECT

There are a lot of expectations when you think about getting your photos taken. But one thing you should always expect when working with us is to have fun. We think capturing memories should be as fun as making memories. So don’t worry if you don’t like getting your picture taken or think your awkward in front of the camera. We aren’t intimidated. We know we can make your photography fun.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III and have a Canon 5D Mark II for back-up. I have five main lenses that I use: a 70-200mm, a 35mm, a 24-70mm, a 50mm, and a 85mm but will rent additional lenses if necessary. I also use a Canon Speedlite EX 580 and 430 flash. I will often bring along film lenses and film cameras to use during shoots. These may include a Holga, an Olympus OM-1, and a Hasselblad.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY SESSION?

Wear color and layers! Dress up and have fun with your session. I don’t limit outfit changes for any of my sessions so feel free to be you and wear what makes you happy. The most important thing is that you feel like you.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING THE SHOOT?

Expect to have fun! I like to joke around and make you laugh and at no time do I want you to feel uncomfortable. I’m full of ideas and will be as adventurous as you will allow. The best shoots are when you leave your inhibitions at the door and willingly jump in. Then my creativity will shine and I can just do what I do best. Worried about not being a “model”? Don’t worry. With me, you can expect honest and straight forward direction without being pose-y or overbearing.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I BOOK YOU FOR MY WEDDING?

First off, all of our weddings come with an engagement session. We want to give our couples nothing short of the best. An engagement session allows us to get to know you in a non-stressful environment and get to learn how you interact with each other when in front of the camera. This allows us to give you the best direction on the day of your wedding. Secondly, you can expect your wedding photography to be specifically tailored to you and the type of wedding that you have planned. Weddings come in all shapes, sizes and styles. We don’t want you to feel bootstrapped by rigid wedding photography. We start with a base of 5 hours and you can build your wedding package on top fo that to perfectly fit what you want and need. We love little backyard elopements and large traditional weddings that go late into the night. And we want our packages to fit both!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY PHOTOS?

For portrait sessions you can expect to receive your photos back within 3 weeks. For weddings, your photos will be finished and ready for you to download between 8-10 weeks. These times may vary depending on the season.

WHO IS YOUR SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?

If you book Grace as your main photographer, most likely the second photographer will be Christa. If you book Christa as your main photographer, Grace tries her best to be the second photographer. We love to work together and prefer to be there for each other on big wedding days. Your main photographer will be with you all day long and will be the main driving creative force behind your photography. The second photographer is there to assist and fill in the gaps. We love to be that person for each other. Plus, we really bring out some great dance moves in each other.

DO I GET PRINTING RIGHTS TO MY IMAGES?

Absolutely, your images are first and foremost yours. You treasure them more than anyone else so you should get to print as many as you want, as big as you want. I do retain the copyright of the images so that they can be used as a representation of my work but I will never sell your images for additional profit.

CAN I USE MY IMAGES ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

Absolutely! We love to share and be shared. Feel free to share your images like confetti. We would love it if you would tag us so that we can also like and share the images. Our instagram and twitter are @grace_combs and our facebook is gracecombsphoto. All we ask is that you stay away from adding filters or making additional edits to our photos as to maintain the integrity of our work.
