– what equipment do you use –
I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark III and have a Canon 5D Mark II for back-up. I have three main lenses that I use: a 24-70mm, a 50mm, and a 85mm but will rent additional lenses if necessary. I also use a Canon Speedlite EX 580 and 430 flash. I will often bring along film lenses and film cameras to use during shoots. These may include a Holga, an Olympus OM-1, and a Hasselblad.
– what should I wear for my shoot –
Wear color and layers! Dress up and have fun with your session. I don’t limit outfit changes for any of my sessions so feel free to be you and wear what makes you happy. The most important thing is that you feel like you.
– what should I expect during the shoot –
Expect to have fun! I like to joke around and make you laugh and at no time do I want you to feel uncomfortable. I’m full of ideas and will be as adventurous as you will allow. The best shoots are when you leave your inhibitions at the door and willingly jump in. Then my creativity will shine and I can just do what I do best. Worried about not being a “model”? Don’t worry. With me, you can expect honest and straight forward direction without being pose-y or overbearing.
– what can I expect when I book you for my wedding –
All of my wedding collections come with an engagement session and two photographers. I want to give my couples nothing short of the best. An engagement session allows me to get to know you in a non-stressful environment and get to learn how you interact with each other when in front of the camera. This allows me to give you the best direction on the day of your wedding. A second shooter allows me to get a 360 degree view of your day. I can, essentially, be in two places at once. This ensures that no big moment is missed and lots of candid, creative shots are captured.
– how long does it take to get my photos –
For portrait sessions you can expect to receive your photos back within 3 weeks. For weddings, your photos will be finished and ready for you to download by 8 weeks. These times may vary depending on the season.
– who is your second photographer –
My main second photographer is Christa Tippmann. I have known her forever. No joke. She literally baby sat me when I was a kid. The best thing about Christa is that we mesh seamlessly when shooting. We have a similar style of shooting and we never seem to get in each other’s way. I feel 100% confident in her creative ability to capture a wedding day and feel like I can do my job better when she is by my side. If she isn’t available, I have a handful of other close photographer friends who are equally as talented.
– do I get a disc of all my images –
I provide hi-resolution digital downloads of all your images. If you would prefer a disc of your hi-resolution photos, just let me know and I would be happy to drop one in the mail for you.
– do I get printing rights to my images –
Absolutely, your images are first and foremost yours. You treasure them more than anyone else so you should get to print as many as you want, as big as you want. I do retain the copyright of the images so that they can be used as a representation of my work but I will never sell your images for additional profit.
– can I edit my images –
I ask that you don’t edit the images in color or style, as to maintain the quality of my work. However, you can crop the photos.
