Last year, I had the wonderful opportunity to go to Ireland and volunteer my services for a local pro-life non-profit organization. I initially went in December with my friend Debbie, who is also an awesome photographer (you can see her website here.) I was able to return in January, when they had one of the biggest candle light vigils in history. Over 30,000 people showed up to show their support for the continuation of Ireland’s pro-life stance. For a country the size of Ireland, that is quite a feat. My husband came out for the last week I was there and spent my birthday with me touring Dublin and Cork. I can’t tell you how much I learned from staying in Ireland. I love being able to immerse myself in new cultures, to see how they live through their eyes. From walking the streets of Dublin, to eating a proper Irish breakfast, to having a pint at the local pub, Dublin was a fun adventure. Some of the places I was able to visit were The Long Room Library at Trinity College, Dublin Castle, The Guinness Factory, The Rock of Cashel, a little fishing village called Kinsale, and Blarney Castle (yes, I kissed the stone). I hope that I will return there some day. I know that there is much and more that I didn’t get to see while I was there. Here is a little glimpse into my trip. Sláint!
